We purchased a new garage door from Precision in July. The door quickly started having an issue when opening. First it was a small noise that grew into a much louder popping sound. Had to call for service in September. Tech showed up and while working on the door the oil started running down all the panels and he was leaving greasy handprints all over the bottom panel. I asked if he was going to clean it up before he left, he said, "Would you like me to because I don't usually"? I said he should or I would have to do it. He then told me, "Maybe you should ask a little nicer and I might". (I am a 70 year old woman) I said are you serious and he said yes! After requesting his name, I said "Ryan, would you please clean up the mess you made?" He then agreed to clean up! We had to provide him with paper towels and cleaner. I do expect service techs, regardless of industry, to clean up after themselves, without having to be asked! Ryan, the first tech, was not able to resolve the issue. He called a "senior" tech. They were not able to completely decide what was wrong so just added more lubricant and said the dust might be the problem!! Told us to clean the hinges every 90 days or so!?! I have never lived anywhere where I had to to that to make my garage door work. The last door was installed in 1996 and it was never cleaned! Serviced a couple of times was all. We just wanted a new door with insulation. I would not recommend them for a new door. We just spent $5,000 for the door and install and it is already having problems! Our experience to date has been terribly disappointing so at this point we would not recommend. Updgate: I rec'd a call within a day from the GM/Owner and he apologized for his employee and the problems we were experiencing. He assured us they would make things right and he did. They sent their technician, Acoya. Everything was nothing short of reinstalled and the door works great! It appears the original install was done incorrectly. We were very pleased with the final results and want to thank Jeff, the GM, for the phone call and Acoya for being such a pro!
