I had what turned out to be a simple problem with the wiring in one of my outlets. They sent two guys over, which I later find out was part of their con game. The "main" guy said he needed to do a "safety check" of my house. He did not say that meant taking pictures of everything in my house while the second guy distracted me, but that's exactly what happened. I broke the conversation with the second guy and went looking for the main guy and found him in my office, taking pictures of my stuff. He said it was a part of the "safety check". Then they started troubleshooting my specific issue - the issue I actually called about. When they were done, they asked me to sit down with them to go over their "assessment". I asked if they found the issue and they said yes, but that they would get to that later. They then explained to me everything that was wrong with my house wiring, using what I would call non-specific, technobabble. When they finished, I asked again what the issue I called about was and he finally told me it was a bad outlet, but he wouldn't tell me which one. Instead, he pulled out an estimate sheet and began another spiel about all the things the estimate would cover - much of it, again, buzz words and cliched sales-speak. I asked him what this "package" cost, and he showed me the price. "$30,000", roughly. Of course, I laughed at him and told him that was a stupid amount of money and there was no way I would pay that, so then he went through the successively cheaper "package" options, each with lower prices. First, $15K, then $10K, then $6K... At each option, I kept giving reasons why I was not interested in spending that kind of money and was only interested in fixing the bad outlet that I called them about in the first place. Then, the second guy, getting down on the floor on his knees right next to me, chimed in and said, "Hey, I noticed your dogs out there in your back yard. Wouldn't it be a shame if they got burned up in your house due to an electrical fire?" Wow. "Yeah, that would suck," I said, "but is that something that could happen with my particular issue?" "Oh, yes," he said. "Your house could go up in flames at any moment." "So, what's stopping me from just replacing the outlet myself?" I asked. And then the kicker... "Well, I'd really hate for you to have to live with the fact that you electrocuted and killed your wife and kids by doing the wiring wrong" he said, with practiced sincerity. At this point I politely showed these two morons out of my house and promptly reported their names and company to the authorities. Please beware folks! This company is shady! Stay away! Search around and find a reputable company that isn't just out to rob you.

They are always nice, but always late. I’ve never had a tech arrive on time in the past three time times I’ve tried to setup service.

My mother in law hired Mister Sparky to do some electrical work on her home as part of the closing on selling her house. Electrician was 2 hours late for the appointment and then on top of that had none of the tools needed to do the work, which was discussed on the phone prior to the appointment. They said they would come back later that day or first thing the next day with the correct tools and they just never showed up. If you have a project you need done in a timely manor or looking for a reliable electrician, I would look elsewhere.

Called out for estimate to get a 220 outlet installed. They quoted me over $2800 for that. Then they started jacking around with my breaker box trying to say one of my breakers was bad and making a buzzing noise when he tested it. That was Monday, then Thursday morning I wake up to all the electricity being out in my kids room. Never had one issue in 10 years. Went out to the breaker box and sure enough it's the one he kept jacking with. Beware!

What a scam!!! Outrageous pricing and shady extra charges. I did some general price checking before I called to have my bathroom exhaust fan installed and expected to pay between $550 - $650 from all the sources I checked. I did not get multiple in-home bids because of COVID. In the end I just picked an electrician and scheduled. Boy was that a mistake! I thought it was strange to begin with that they charged different prices depending on how you scheduled your appointment or even that they charged for an appointment at all. My appointment was between 11-1, when by 12:30 I had not heard from anyone I called my husband to see if they had showed up. He was just at the house to let them in to do the work. He said they were there working. They did not call me with an estimate the technician just MADE my husband sign a “work order” which had pricing added. I ordered the work, not my husband. He was under the impression I had talked about prices before they got there and I was under the impression they would call me with a quote once they looked at it. He told me it was going to be about $1,000!!!!! I asked what the hell for?! He said he was told to sign the ipad for the work so he thought they already told me a price. He thought it was way too high but he wasn’t authorizing it or paying for it I was. I got an email that night AFTER the work was done giving me pricing options!! They charge for making an appointment, they charge for a "power club" which is just a way to get extra revenue. Then they charge 30% above market pricing. They installed a cheap basic fan and a switch that did not match the other switch in the room. This was not what I agreed to or expected and now I am stuck with a huge over-priced bill and I still have to replace the switch. I tried to call to discuss all this and kept getting the run around. They apparently don’t have a real phone system or manager on site. Any certified electrician should be able to complete your work, an honest one should price it within in market price. I have also discovered after the fact that the Mister Sparky franchise has had numerous complaints filed against them for price gouging. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!
