I was on Tim's schedule for 3 weeks, and he cancelled on me the night before the job, with no explanation given. Here is the story of how it happened: I called Tim in late August to get a quote on some concrete work and set up a time for him to inspect the site. On the day of the appointment, he called me to reschedule. And then on the rescheduled day, he was about 45 minutes late. Not that big of a deal, but maybe not the best start either. The site inspection went well, and he mentioned a lot of details about how he would do the job. I noted them down for reference, and he sent me a quote the next day. The quote was a lot less detailed than what he'd said verbally. This is what it said, in its entirety: "tractor work and sub grade - set concrete forms and place new concrete - this includes the steps and will be a broom finish", along with the address and price. I texted him my notes from the day before, and he replied "It's pretty amazing Nick that's everything we talked about." Given his good price, good attitude, and the good reviews of previous work, I decided I'd move forward with him in spite of having some reservations about the lack of details in the quote. When I was ready to move forward, he put me on his schedule for a date about 3 weeks later - Monday, October 20th. As the date drew closer, I texted him twice to confirm we were still on, and he replied affirmatively. On Friday, 10/17, he wrote "Monday morning 10 am. I will need to catch you for a 50% deposit". I responded "Will you be there yourself at 10 AM?" and later texted him pictures of a couple of sketches of the site. On Sunday at 6:48 PM, he wrote "I appreciate the opportunity to work with you im going to pass on this project. Thanks for your consideration." What? I asked "Why is that?" -- but didn't get any response. I don't know what's going on. But to cancel a job the night before - after a lengthy wait and for no apparent reason - is just really unprofessional. Based on this experience, I would caution everyone to avoid wasting their time with Tim and 3rd Generation Concrete.

Well, can't say I'm happy about my first bad review, but I have the right to refuse service.I could tell from the interactions leading up to your start date that you were going to be a lot to deal with. I didn't tell you that because I didn't want to be rude or hurt your feelings. I'm sorry I couldn't work with you.I hope you found a contractor that could.

We had a patio put in the backyard of our home and our driveway widened. They were very professional and quite fast. They did great work! It looks amazing!
